About BloXXoR

BloXXoR is a simple game somewhere between the Tetrix and a vertically scrolling shoot 'em up. It is a clone of Konami's Quarth aka Block Hole.

I was actually playing the Game Boy version called Block Game when I decided to create this clone for PC. And, due to its stupid name, I had hard time finding the original for reference on this web page.

Gameplay

You are the spaceship at the bottom and can move left and right (arrow keys), boost (up arrow), and fire (space). T, L, and I shaped pieces fall down from the top of the screen (e.g. you are moving up). You can shoot small square blocks that will stick to the pieces at the place they hit. If you successfully fill the pieces form a rectangle, they will be destroyed. (Each piece requires a minimum of four hits if you do not make any mistakes.) If any of the pieces reaches you at the bottom of the screen, the game will end.

There is no scoring other than levels and the percentage of current level completed.
